I Dream Of 6 - New OS 6.0 Inspired Premium Theme Now Available!

Ryan Hamrick, the designer of the new BBLeaks logo, is at it again! Although this time it is not a logo, but a full blown theme! Ever since OS 6.0 screenshots emerged on the 9670 Clamshell, Ryan has been working hard and has been able to produce something I am sure a lot of people will like. With 6.0 going to be available to a limited amount of people (or at least those of us with more likely less than a Tour), this will somewhat ease the pain.

The theme is currently available for Storm, Bold 9700, Tour and 8900 series devices. I am told that Ryan may release the theme for more devices, so if your Blackberry is not listed, keep checking!

This video is somewhat reminiscent of the "race track" video RIM did when showing Bluetooth on the Storm1. Nonetheless, the creativity of this video amuses us, good job Vodafone employees.

BlackBerry Bold 9650 OS 5.0.0.643 Leaked

This won't be of too much use to the general populace. However, leaks for pre-released devices are always of good use for hybrid builders. While the platform for .643 is on 4.2 (not sure why so low) we'll hopefully find something of use.

Foursquare for Blackberry Updated to 1.8.0

Looks like the popular Foursquare app for Blackberry has been updated, and some have already gotten their hands on it.  Technically the app is still in beta, but they're not wasting any time upgrading and updating the application.  This update is from 1.7 to 1.8, and features an slightly updated UI, and faster location pinpointing, amount others.  (Storm users get significant upgrades)  The app update should go live for all users tomorrow, according to their latest tweet.  I like Foursquare and the app works great for me, 1.8.0 does seem faster, and lets you oversee your account more from just the app.

Is RIM Stealth Marketing Blackberrys?

Picture this, you're in a bar and a bunch of hot girls walk in. They sit down next to you, and start to flirting with you. All of this happens while they are using their Blackberry. This might sound strange but Julia Royter, a 26 year old actress, said this is exactly what RIM payed her to do in a stealth marketing campaign. "We would just walk into bars, whip out our Blackberrys and try to get guys to look at them by flirting. We’d say, 'Put your number in my phone and I’ll totally call you. We’ll go out on a date!' But we just wanted them to try the BlackBerry. I definitely didn't call anyone," said Royter.

This was published in an article in the NY Daily News today.  (Thanks to Kyle @BlackberryCool for posting).  This sounds like a waste of money, but is an interesting way get the brand out there. What are your thoughts on this?

Sprint Set To Get BlackBerry Bold 9650 On May 16th?

According to CrackBerry, this seems to be the case.  The above photo was received on their tip line and shows the BlackBerry Bold 9650 with the date [5/16] beside it, along with some potential price listings for the launch.  Most of the buzz about this device has focused on the Verizon version of the 9650, but it now seems likely that Sprint may beat Verizon to the punch and put this device on the market 1st.  Only time will tell, so we will see what happens in the future.  Just keep your fingers crossed and continue hoping that the 9650 is released more sooner than later.
