Blurts is a Blackberry app developed by MLH Software.  It is designed for the Blackberry user who is in front of their computer for extended periods of time.  It sends pop-up alerts to your computer whenever you receive an email, SMS, or miss a call.  I had the opportunity to test drive the app for the last few weeks and I have to say I am very impressed.  Hit the jump for a full review.

Pearl 9105 Striker With T9 Keyboard?

With the leaked OS .604 for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 some people (@banthon and @sugarmantreacle) have discovered that the OS was not exclusive to 9100. In fact, they've uncovered that there will be a second model (9105), which will include a T9 traditional keyboard.

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 OS 5.0.0.604 Leaked Online

There aren't many Pearl 9100 users just yet, considering it has yet to release. However, the hybrid builders will be rejoicing with this OS release. One of the first full OS 6.x to hit the streets, it will be very interesting to see what use can come of OS 5.0.0.604 for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100.

Full QWERTY BlackBerry Flip Phone In The Works?

It has been a great day for patent hunting. Here we've found a new device that is very reminiscent to the BlackBerry Cube we discovered back in 2009. The device in the new patent sports a full QWERTY keyboard with a flip-open top/screen, and a trackball (most likely would become a trackpad).

More Proof for a BlackBerry Pearl With Small Traditional Keypad

We first told you that Research In Motion was working on a low-grade Pearl. At first we didn't have many details other than the fact that the device would only have 12 keys. Then we supplied a patent we found, which showed the ornamental design of a pearl with a small traditional keypad like we previously described.

Now, for even more proof, we've found another patent to describe the design of the traditional keypad. We have also heard that this device isn't too far away and there are many prototypes and even "clear bin" editions floating around.

China Mobile to Offer BlackBerry Curve 8910 and 8310

China Mobile, the largest mobile carrier in the world, is said to soon follow in its competitors footsteps by offering a few BlackBerry devices. China Mobile is scheduled to be releasing the Curve 8910 aka Atlas or Harpoon and the Curve 8310. However, there is not a confirmed release date.

The devices will not be available on TD-SCDMA, China Mobile's current 3G network. The Curve 8910 and the 8310 should both be on an evolved EDGE network. China Mobile has already begun selling the BlackBerry 8700, but has yet to fully push its sales.

LinkedIn App for Blackberry Now Available!

LinkedIn, after much anticipation, has finally released the first version of their app.  I know I'm pretty excited about it because it appears to have a bunch of features that make it an efficient and useful app.  Ringing in at version 1.0, it's only available at the moment on the Bold, Tour, and Curve models which are running OS 4.3 or higher.  Its integrated  with the contacts, calendar and messenger apps and has many other features along with it.  When you boot it up, it has a login screen which is crisp, clean and to the point.  After you log in, you'll see a pop up asking you if you want to integrate your contacts and calendars and then once you select what you want, the dashboard is right there.

It gives you 6 options:

- post your status
- search users
- see your connections
- see your pending invitations
- see your new messages
- reconnect

All in all it looks like a complete, well developed app that if you're any type of LinkedIn user, you'll be able to enjoy what it offers.  This is a great addition to the app space and breath of fresh air from yesterday's news that RIMs Twitter app is postponed.  Chock full of options, wonderfully complete and asthetically pleasing I'd say go for it.

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.586 for Blackberry Bold 9700

Monday's suck but Bold 9700 owners get to play with a new leak, courtesy of @crackberry.  This one is OS version 5.0.0.586.  I have noticed minor bugs in previous 9700 leaks so hopefully the final bugs are getting worked out.  The numbers keep getting higher, and the 9700 gets the most leaks of any berry.  No word on any major changes, but be sure to let us know if you find anything.  I'll be installing this one pretty soon.

Review: Hyberpad for BlackBerry

When I initially heard of the Hyberpad, by Bishop Scientifics, I had mixed feelings. At first the Hyberpad seemed more like a novelty, rather than a practical accessory. All of this changed once I was finally able to put a Hyberpad to use. The sole purpose of the Hyberpad is to conserve battery life and control your BlackBerry's notification behavior by keeping it in "hybernation".
