It has been some time since we had an official release for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 and 9105. Today, OS 5.0.0.831 has been made official by Trigcom.

BlackBerry App World 2.0 Now Available

RIM today moved App World 2.0 out of beta and to the public for all to enjoy. Also, as of today, developers are now able to offer apps for $0.99 and $1.99. RIM said that App World users will be receiving upgrade notifications over the next few hours.

Mobile Ad Network for RIM Soon?

According the the Wall Street Journal RIM is shopping for a mobile advertising network. RIM apparently has had meetings with mobile ad network Millennial Media about a potential buy, but have since stopped due to the value of Millennial. Popular ad markets AdMob and Quattro Wireless have talked to RIM but asked between $400 million to $500 million and RIM has been unwilling to pay that. Now, though, RIM is behind, as Google Inc. and Apple Inc. purchased AdMob and Quattro and have had great success.

Crusher Tank Technology To Be Used On RIM Tablets?

According to Bloomberg.com, RIM is now going to BMW audio and the Army's Crusher tank, apparently in an attempt to distinguish themselves from the iPad and other tablet devices. The RIM Tablet will be developed by QNX Software Systems according to unnamed people due to the pre-public announcement. The Crusher is a remote-controlled, six wheeled vehicle made by Carnegie Mellon University for the Army in 2006.

And Bloomberg states that RIM plans to call the tablet BlackPad, which was decided in July. Which makes since seeing as how they bought the Internet rights to blackpad.com last month. Hit the jump for the features reportedly that will be on the BlackPad.

The BlackBerry Torch has been said by some to have sold poorly in its opening weekend, while others have said it is selling quite well. It has been reported that about 150,000 units were sold in the opening weekend.
