AT&T Releasing White Curve 8900?

This was just sent to us by our AT&T ninja. As the image shows, it's a semi-white BlackBerry Curve 8900. This poster is apart of AT&T's holiday collateral. We know that there have been skins made for this phone, but AT&T does not sell those. It would be confusing to potential customers to advertise a device's skin if it wasn't even purchasable. We think this might be a color change to represent the holidays or "snow" promotions that about to start, but we honestly don't know. What do you think?

Verizon Clarifies Storm2 Wi-Fi Issue

Just got tipped by one of our Verizon ninjas that they have been flooded with calls about the BlackBerry Storm2 Wi-Fi not working. Apparently, CrackBerry must have speculated that Storm2 users had to have the highest data plan of $44.99 in order to use Wi-Fi. The image above from Verizon Info Manager, describes how the Wi-Fi feature is not dependent on their services.
We're not sure which article they are referring to on CrackBerry, but Verizon must have been a bit peeved off to have posted an official announcement. This just goes to show how much of a mover and shaker CrackBerry is in the BlackBerry world. Kudos to CB! :)

Verizon BlackBerry Service Down?

*UPDATE* It seems that there is also a server issue with RIM. This could be affecting your BlackBerry Messenger as well.
According to our VZW ninja, Verizon is experiencing problems with it's
BlackBerry customers. Apparently, a recent update (we're unsure what it was yet) has caused the phone numbers of BlackBerry users to no longer be
attached to their pins. This has made many phones and/or data not work.
Have you noticed your BlackBerry Messenger not loading your friends or
your own avatar? Most likely it is because of the current outage. Is your connection showing 1xev instead of 1XEV? Lowercase means it sees the network, but isn't connected. It's unknown how long the service has been down or spotty, but many people are calling into VZW. We're hoping Verizon fixes this issue soon, we know how addicted everyone is and would hate to hear of mass hysteria.
Are you experiencing problems? Tell us about what's happening.
AT&T Bold 9700 Appears in Price List for $399?

*UPDATE* It is $599 full retail, $399 with a new account after $100 rebate. The middle price you can kind of see is the bundled price. We're assuming the $199 price tag that is supposed to be at launch will be a launch promotion.
Here is the latest AT&T price list, which shows the BlackBerry 'Bold 2' aka Bold 9700 for $399. We're assuming this is the price without a contract and obviously before a rebate. In the official AT&T press release is says the Bold 9700 will cost $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. We're curious why the Bold 9700 is listed for $200 more than it should! AT&T most likely decided to drop the price in hopes to compete with T-Mobile, who stated they were selling the Onyx for $200, which seems to be the trend in price for newly released smartphones. If we find out anymore info on the price difference we will update the post.
Thanks goes to our AT&T ninja!
