The BlackBerry Tablet Is Real

When the Apple iPad released, many wondered who would be next. We knew of HP and a handful of others, but after initial reviews they didn't pair up to the iPad. Then there were rumors of Research In Motion ordering 8.9" display screens from Hon Hai. Many started wondering if RIM could possibly be working on a tablet.

BlackBerry Storm2 9520 OS 5.0.0.669 Leaked

While not every Storm2 9520 user will be jumping for joy (since this is a non DRM release) this OS 5.0.0.669 will still make for a great hybrid. So far this is the highest build we've seen thus far...and they keep going higher, fast. If you're able to use this or you're a hybrid builder, have at it!

BlackBerry Podcast Beta App Video Walk-Through

It was just a few days ago that we received images of the BlackBerry Podcast app, which the app has now evidently been added to the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Now we've been sent a nice video, which shows the entire app from head to toe. So far we've heard this app isn't so great, but of course it is only a beta version. Time will tell if it will compete with the likes of PodTrapper. If you're testing it, do you like it?

BlackBerry Pearl 9100/9105 OS 5.0.0.664 Leaked

For those who have the Pearl 9100 or 9105 (I know of a couple that do) you will find OS 5.0.0.664 to your liking. Not entirely sure what's new with this build. However, this is a decent step up from the previous .623 and also the highest OS build to be leaked so far. If you have this device or you're a hybrid builder, here's a treat.

BlackBerry Tour 9630 OS 5.0.0.643 Leaked

Images of RIM BlackBerry Podcast Beta App Leaked Out

We had these images sent in, showing the upcoming Research In Motion BlackBerry Podcast app. We don't know too much about the app just yet. We have heard that there is not a large selection and you cannot add a podcast of choice. From the first screenshot, it appears that RIM is designing it similar to the new layout for music that we saw in the BlackBerry 6 promo video. It will be pretty cool to eventually see how the RIM-made version compares to third-party podcast apps. More images after break...

New BlackBerry OS 6 Promo Video

Today at the Keynote speech with founder and co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis, RIM unveiled a new promotional video showcasing the upcoming BlackBerry OS 6.0! While it's more of a hype video than a live demo, it does show the beauty of the BlackBerry 6. Hopefully OS 6.0 will come with those dancers...then I'll always been in the groove to use my BlackBerry!

Will Your BlackBerry Receive OS 6.0? Supported Devices Revealed!

*UPDATE* New information has obviously since come out. Unfortunately OS 6 takes up about 280MB memory. As you know, the Storm2 only had 256MB. This is why there should be a Storm2 Odin refresh that will have 512MB memory. Devices with out a touchscreen only use about 180MB of memory with OS 6. This is why the 9700, 9650, and 9100/9105 should all get OS 6.

The first day of WES 2010 has been a great start to what should be a very informative week. We recently brought you even more leaked details on the features of OS 6.0, which truly sound like RIM is working in the right direction. Now, we've learned details on which devices will receive OS 6.0 support.

BlackBerry Bold 9650 Sprint Ad Shows Up In WES 2010 Promo Notebook

WES 2010 is only a day away, but participants of the event have already checked in and received some promotional material. Within the WES 2010 promo notebook, our friend Al Sacco from CIO.com snagged the above image of a Sprint ad clearly showing the Bold 9650.

Many have wondered if RIM would present the Bold 9650 at WES. It looks like they may just do so and the rumored May 16th release date could be possible.

Red BlackBerry Curve 8520 Coming to T-Mobile May 19th

Our friend Mac from PocketBerry had the above image sent in to him. The image shows that a fuchsia red BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be releasing through T-Mobile on May 19th. RIM has really started adding color to their line-up of devices. The new fuchsia red is probably the most vibrant color so far, considering the only other new colors have been white and indigo. RIM had to of researched what the more popular cellphone colors are, and it will be interesting to see what other colors they release. What color BlackBerry would like to see release next?

Android Appears on BestBuy BlackBerry Curve 8530 Promotional Poster

It's not too uncommon to see errors in marketing materials. We've even seen a banner with the iPhone OS on a BlackBerry. The guys at LeakDroid had these images sent in showing the BestBuy promotional poster for the BlackBerry Curve 8530 with a nice little Google Android logo behind the phone.

BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS 5.0.0.601 Official; Virgin Mobile USA Getting It?

RIM Seems to have let the cat of the bag on this one. PhoneNews found out that Virgin Mobile USA is now listed on the software download section of BlackBerry.com, which shows support for the Curve 8530. What PN failed to mention was the OS for the 8530 is new! This will be Virgin Mobile USA's first BlackBerry device. Virgin Mobile appears to be targeting their competitor, Boost Mobile, which recently released their first pre-paid BlackBerry.

It is not too odd for a carrier to get the OS software support online before they release the device (remember China Mobile with the Curve 8910?). Either way, this is good news for those who already have the Curve 8530, as OS 5.0.0.601 has been made official, just remember to delete the vendor.xml file to install.
