BlackBerry Torch Keypad Spotted With Chinese Lettering; Could the Torch Launch in China?

The Chinese market is beginning to grow slowly, but substantially. RIM has opened its first-ever BlackBerry store in China and there are rumors that China Mobile may open up BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) to its customers.

Now, the keypad for the BlackBerry Torch has been spotted with Chinese lettering. This could mean we may see the Torch launch on China Mobile or surrounding countries of Chinese speaking people. This keypad may even just be a third-party product for Chinese users to swap out the original Torch keypad.

Nevertheless, it is very interesting to see this keypad. It would be a huge device in China, if released, as China Mobile currently only offers the Curve 8910 and 8310.

Looking at the Chinese character on the keypad, it is Cangjie. This is used in the Hong Kong and Taiwan market.

Mainland China use pinyin.
