OTA Upgrade to OS 5.0.0.714 for T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9700 Users?

Users are reporting that T-Mobile is pushing an over-the-air (OTA) update for select BlackBerry Bold 9700 users. The update seems to only be working on those running the last official OS from T-Mobile, which is OS 5.0.0.586. Once updated, users have reported it upgraded their Bold 9700 to OS 5.0.0.714! Normally, OTA upgrades are more of a "patch" for an error they might have found in the last official OS. Either way, this could be very helpful for any T-Mobile Bold 9700 user. Has this happened to you?

It will be interesting to find out when the 9650 will finally be officially acknowledge by Big Red. Are you a VZW customer going to upgrade to the 9650?

Aintair Spam Filter Review

Everyone inadvertently give their email address publicly, or to register for the site that will send you the weight of spam. As far as when we receive emails only from your PC - no big problem with this - both mailboxes, as well as programs like Outlook, offer us advanced filtering unwanted mail. In the case of BlackBerry, the situation unfortunately is not so simple - message filters can be set only on the BIS, and even their usefulness is pretty much limited, in addition, everything goes straight to your phone ...

BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider Gets A Nice Video Walk-Through; Shows BlackBerry 6 on Touchscreen

The guys over at The Berry Fix on a new video of the BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider. This is a nice walk-through of BlackBerry 6, which shows the pinch-to-zoom swipe gestures, YouTube integration, and how the upcoming OS 6 works with a touchscreen. The Slider also sports an AT&T splash screen, hinting that this device isn't too far away from a release. We are told this is the first device to release with BlackBerry 6 and also have heard rumors of it going to Sprint, eventually.

At first the Slider was not well received, but with more and more information, pictures, video being leaked people seem to have a change of heart. Do you like the Slider?

Twitter For Blackberry Gets Updated

So it seems that the guys working on the Twitter for BlackBerry application have been working pretty hard to address much of the feedback that they have received.  This update is a jump from version 1.0.0.37 to 1.0.0.40 and adds features such as:
  • Quote Tweets [ability to edit ReTweets]
  • More photo viewing support
  • Personal Info Guard
  • Auto complete for @ usernames [Friend picker]
  • Hotkeys for navigation
  • Go to users
Head on over to www.blackberry.com/twitter to download the update OTA if you haven't done so already.  How many of you are continuing or returning to use Twitter for BB now that it has been updated?

"Many of these business users rely on their BlackBerry smartphones and now will not only be able to access e-mail and the Web, but also all of their invaluable files they have backed up."

BlackBerry Storm4 Soon Following After Storm3?

It is being reported that the BlackBerry Storm3 is in its final stages of completion. The rumor is that the Storm3 will be ready this year (2010) by Q3 or Q4. It is said that the Storm3 will still include the SurePress touchscreen as its predecessors, however, the new revision is supposed to be "perfect". We reported some time ago that RIM was working on the Storm3 with two model types: normal candy bar touch screen and one with a slide out full-qwerty keyboard. Once we saw the Slider 9800, we were unsure whether or not the Slider 9800 was a version of the Storm3 prototype.
