Video: BlackBerry Torch 9800 vs Apple iPhone 4 in Boot Time

We took the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and put it head to head against the Apple iPhone 4 to see which one had the faster boot time. It was bit difficult to accurately assess which one was faster, but you decide. Video after break.

Who do you think the winner is?

The iPhone is the clear winner, but boot time should not be a deal breaker for anyone.

You're right...the iPhone was the clearrrr winner.

the iphone is clearly better if compared to a battery pull. but if you compare just the power down, the 9800 thrashed the iphone flat.

Yeah, press the home button and the lock button to do a full power off on the Iphone 4 and that would be comparable to a battery pull on the Blackberry... but the iphone would prolly still be faster... who cares tho.

who cares about power down?
everybody knows blackberry's are so annoying till you finally get to use the phone, not to mention they gotta reboot for everything, you uninstall an app > reboot, you install some apps > reboot, you upgrade your apps > reboot, WTF?

Yeah the iPhone was the clear winner in this one....

But the time to reboot is much faster then previous models

I would be curious to know if the boot is different on the iPhone 4 when there is a battery pull. ie Apple does hibernation and saves a lot of information to RAM to speed up reboots etc...

I still rather have a BB phone ( I own a Storm2) than a jesus/toy phone.

Fanboys relax, its like comparing Apples to Blackberries :) A hackable toy vs rock solid bullet proof OS that makes countries quake. I'm for the Mullet 9800. Business upfront, party in the back!

You can reboot the iphone.... You need to hold the power and home button down together until the phone switches off, that is effectively the same as a battery pull.... But even then the iPhone is quicker.

RIM need to fix up, how are they trying to compete with the iPhone 4 with a half baked phone such as the 9800.
