The folks at BerryMe.de scored their hands on the BlackBerry Bold 9000 OS 5.0.0.464 and the Curve 8900 OS 5.0.0.461. So far we've heard good things and bad things about these two leaks. Nevertheless, the links are still live so if you've got the time fire one of these OS' up and hope for the best.

BlackBerry Magnum Hands-On Video Shows Touchscreen



A little over a week ago we saw the leaked images of the BlackBerry Magnum. For those who may not know, the Magnum is the precursor to the upcoming BlackBerry Dakota. The Dakota will be a hybrid device sporting a tactile SurePress touchscreen (like the Storm series) along with a physical QWERTY keyboard in a Bold 9000/9700 frame.

There was a good bit of controversy spreading on whether or not the first images of the Magnum were fakes. To clear the air and set it straight, The Cellular Guru has released the video above. While the the device doesn't have an OS loaded you can still get a general idea of the feel and functionality of the Magnum.

Leaked BIS 3.0 E-mail Interface Screen Shot


Our good friends over at BBNews.pl followed up with the recent BIS 3.0 info we leaked by getting their hands on a screen shot of the new e-mail interface for BIS 3.0.  From what we can see it appears to be much more simplified. We eagerly anticipate the release of BIS 3.0 in March, which will have better e-mail support and other great features.

We had originally broke the news on BIS 3.0 - 3.4 in November of 2009. Here were details of better GMail, Hotmail, and Yahoo! e-mail support. It will be interesting to see what each version of the BIS update will bring.

First BlackBerry Magnum Images Appear Online


Our friend @cellguru who is in the process of building a mobile phone accessory store The Cellular Guru has uncovered the first live image of a BlackBerry Magnum. While this device is apparently no longer in production to be released, it does have a new rumored successor, the Dakota. What sets apart the Magnum from the Dakota is a trackpad is said to be added to the Dakota. We touched on a few specs we've heard about the Dakota before.

Research In Motion Getting Serious About Finger Print Scanning for BlackBerry Devices?

Just when you thought your BlackBerry could not get any more secure, it would appear that it may, soon enough. According to a patent that we've been given, which was filed on February 26, 2009 and updated on January 12, 2010, it clearly defines the implementation of finger print scanning technology.

Full Specs on the BlackBerry Apollo, Atlas, and Stratus!

One of our sources has given to us a full spec sheet for the upcoming BlackBerry Stratus (Pearl 9100), Atlas (Curve 8910), and Apollo (a new Curve model). We had only briefly spoke about these devices before when we told of RIMs plans for 2010. These phones really seem to be quite impressive and we will say that we have all but confirmed Evolved EDGE is coming to Europe.


FourSquare Beta 1.0.0 BlackBerry App Leaked Online!


Heard a few people tweeting about or from FourSquare, but had no idea what it was? We just got tipped with the newly released 1.0.0 version of the FourSquare app for BlackBerrys. FourSquare is from the creators of DodgeBall, which was recently shutdown by Google. With FourSquare you can post shout outs and let your "friends" know your whereabouts by checking in at any location.

New Version of Google Mobile App to Search your BlackBerry E-mail and Contacts


Google has rolled out a new version of its mobile app to allow you to search through e-mails and contacts.  Simply type or speak the name of the sender or a part of the e-mail. The mobile app will quickly pull up results from e-mails or contacts and allow you to reply and forward.

Google Nexus Two: A Threat to BlackBerry?

With the recent release of the Google Nexus One mobile phone there are already reports of its successor, the Nexus Two. The Nexus One has been labeled as the truest of all "iPhone killers" currently available to the public. Although the iPhone may have its popularity, many business users have found that it is not the greatest enterprise device. Therefore, attesting to Research In Motion's enterprise market stronghold with its BlackBerry devices. However, Google seems to be planning a blitzkrieg to become an enterprise device contender.

Now it would seem that a Sprint employee would like for everyone to know that Verizon won't be the only US carrier getting the Tour2 (Essex) soon. Our friend Mookie got a hold of this screen cap, which should make all you Sprint users, who are eligible for an upgrade, very happy.

kgb Answers App Now Available for BlackBerry


The global information company behind America's most successful text answer service, kgb, has released its "Answer" app on Blackberry devices including the Curve 8300 series, Curve 8900, World Phone 8800 series, Bold 9000, 9600 Tour, and the Storm 9500 series.

Bolt Browser Beta 1.62 Released


We had Mr. Miller inform us that Bolt had released a new beta, version 1.62! While we couldn't find out what has changed, we did notice it seemed to render full webpages quite well (much better than Opera Mini 5 beta 2). The speed didn't seem to be any faster, but it could have just been the websites we visited.

Our friend Bla1ze over at CrackBerry got the hookup with OS 5.0.0.436 for the BlackBerry Storm2 9520. We're unsure how well this OS runs, but nevertheless, with any new OS it's at least worth a look if you know what you're doing.

Poynt Beta 1.5.2.25 Leaked Online!


Our friends at BBHybrids got their hands on the new Poynt beta 1.5.2.25! We're not too sure what new features have been added/updated from 1.4.2.72, but the interface seems to have been changed to include a current weather overlay and the buttons have a nice 'growing' animation.
