BOLT 1.7 Released

Early this morning, the third-party browser BOLT was updated to 1.7. With the update, the browser now supports widgets, keyboard shortcuts for zooming and moving throughout the page, Twitter integration, and as always, fast browsing.

The widgets of 1.7 seem to be the most talked about feature included in the update. At download, it only contains 9 "Web Apps" but more are promised to be added. Two of those being dedicated Twitter apps. The apps are Wikipedia, a weather app, Dictionary.com, Bing Search, BOLT Forum, and a calculator and calender. For BOLT 1.7, go to boltbrowser.com from your device and download.

BlackBerry Storm2 9550 OS 5.0.0.451 Leaked Online!

It has been quite some time since we have seen a leak for the BlackBerry 9550. The last leaked OS was 5.0.0.428 last year in December. To our surprise the 9550's brother, the 9520, is already at OS 5.0.0.497! Could this be a sign that devices on many carriers are getting better support? Nevertheless, this build should hopefully be a good one, as it currently undergoes testing through Verizon.

Work-Around to Get Google Buzz on Blackberry Devices

Google Buzz is the newest product from Google which allows the users of Gmail to connect with Twitter, Picasa, Flickr and Google Reader. It also allows people to post status like messages that other buzz users can see. When it was released for computers, it was also released to Apple iPhone, and Google Android users, but not Blackberry users.

After many fans were about to lose trust in Google, the people over at Blackberrycool.com found a way to use Google Buzz on Blackberry Devices. According to Blackberrycool, both Opera Mini (They tested it on v5 beta 2) and Bolt can handle the javascript correctly. Here are the steps...

Official BlackBerry Twitter App Releases With Invite Only; Then Gets Leaked for Everyone

If you haven't already heard, the official BlackBerry Twitter has released. However, you had to be invited in order to download. This has all changed thanks to Theiexplorers who have leaked it with an OTA link. This is pretty typical with newly released 'beta' apps that do not utilize a pin authorization. We've been testing it out for awhile now and although it's aesthetically pleasing we're not sure if it's the pinnacle of twitter apps. Are you going to give up UberTwitter, Social Scope, or others? If you didn't get an invite might as well give it a try!

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 (Stratus) OS 5.0.0.483 Leaked!

We've once again been blessed with an OS for an unreleased device. This time around it is the upcoming BlackBerry Pearl 9100 aka Stratus. This is not a service OS, and therefore can be booted up using Desktop Manager. For those who are lucky enough to own one a BlackBerry Stratus you should find this beta OS to be a nice build.
For those who may be unfamiliar with what the Pearl 9100 will be - it is the next generation Pearl (obviously). It will sport a nice trackpad and be sleek and sexy as the Bold 9700 and Storm2. We've already discussed it's exact specs, which you may find as a nice read.

BlackBerry Harpoon 8910 (Atlas) OS 5.0.1.205 Leaked

To many of you, this leaked OS will not be of any use. This is service OS 5.0.1.205 for the unreleased BlackBerry Harpoon 8910 (Atlas). If you're unfamiliar with the Atlas, it said to be an upgraded Curve model for the European and East Asian market.

This is a service OS and therefore does not use desktop manager to install. The OS is compiled into one .exe file - starting it you actually cause autoastart of cfp.exe, which starts installation. So, it's more like you were trying to upload SFI after debranding or unlocking. What's interesting about this OS is it is the first 5.0.1.xx we have seen. If you are one of the lucky people out there to own a BlackBerry Atlas you should fire this OS up and see what goodies its packin'.

BlackBerry Atlas 8910 OS 5.0.1.205 Spotted; Doesn't Use Desktop Manager to Install!

Our affiliate site over at BBNews.pl got a nice screen cap of the RIM Auto-Programmer. The image shows the latest beta OS for the BlackBerry Atlas 8910 is at 5.0.1.205! We previously posted that the Storm3 had a beta OS around the same application number, and it was to include widgets. Could this 8910 OS also include widgets?
We are told OS 5.0.1.205 is not installed by Desktop Manager, but in fact loads the OS .exe file through cfp.exe! Also, as usual, this OS is strictly for the upcoming 8910 and will not work on the 8900. For those who might not be too familiar with the Atlas, you can jump over to the full specs we leaked, which tell about all the goodies.

Previously, there were only screen caps of such a crazy thing floating around and Boy Genius Report even did a review.

BlackBerry Magnum Hands-On Video Shows Touchscreen

A little over a week ago we saw the leaked images of the BlackBerry Magnum. For those who may not know, the Magnum is the precursor to the upcoming BlackBerry Dakota. The Dakota will be a hybrid device sporting a tactile SurePress touchscreen (like the Storm series) along with a physical QWERTY keyboard in a Bold 9000/9700 frame.

There was a good bit of controversy spreading on whether or not the first images of the Magnum were fakes. To clear the air and set it straight, The Cellular Guru has released the video above. While the the device doesn't have an OS loaded you can still get a general idea of the feel and functionality of the Magnum.
